Larry's unfortunate event

I hate to admit any of this. It makes me sick every time I look at Larry's forehead. Last Wednesday during piano lessons, Larry hit his head on a dressor. He was dancing around playing with some other kids, and I guess he got dizzy and ran into it. He screamed, then I ran up the stairs as he was coming down. Blood was everywhere! Surprizingly I was calm. Lisa (mom of the piano students) rushed back to the house and helped me. We tried to use butterfly bandages to close his wound, but he was so upset, we couldn't get it on good enough. Ended up going to get stitches. I just know every time I see that scar, hopefully small, that I will think of how I wasn't supervising him, and now he has a mark to prove it. It makes me sick.

I'm so sorry! Lauren ran into our bookshelf right before we came to idaho and had a gash right above her eye. It freaked me out but you have to remember kids will be kids. We can't keep an eye on them constantly! Especially with 3 kids and teaching piano! You go girl.

I second what Jodi said. We can't be there for everything. You are a great mom.

((hugs)) It happens. Kids do all sorts of things and you can't watch every thing. It is okay. Don't beat yourself up over it girl.

When Kevin was a toddler, he rolled off my bed into the nightstand and got a black eye. My hubby got a little upset with me that I would 'let that happen'. His mom (our neighbor at the time) really let him have it. She reminded him that babies and kids get hurt, and being an overprotective parent wouldn't do my kids any favors. She told him to relax and then she gave me a hug. Every mom has been there. Give yourself a break... but didn't it just make you feel horrid? *frown*
