Our 2009 Stars

When Baby Jesus was born, a bright, new star appeared in the night sky. This was a symbol of a marvelous and wonderful event. We top our christmas tree with a star to remind us of the birth of our Savior. We also decorate our tree with other stars and ornaments that represent the marvelous and wonderful events that have taken place in our lives that year. We choose at least one "star" event and place a new ornament on the tree to remind us of it. The past "stars" have included births of children, new career, new home, special church callings, family miracles, and memorable moments. This year we chose a few new stars that represent some accomplishments and growth in our family. First, Libby started a new chapter in her life with the start of Kindergarten. This has been a blessing in her life and she blesses her family with her enthusiasm and new knowledge she shares. Second, Our family will finish reading the Book of Mormon as a family for the first time. This has been a wonderful blessing in our lives, to read the scriptures every day. We read at the same time every night and the kids know and look forward to it. Everyone reads to their capability. Libby has become quite the reader because of the practice she gets at scripture time. Here are a few pictures of these events and a few other fun things that have happened this year.

Libby's first day of Kindergarten

Our scripture reading wears some of us out.

Larry turns 4 and starts Preschool.Adalyn turns 2 and shows a lot of personality. This is one of many favorite costumes she wears throughout her busy day.

What a fabulous picture of the kids! I really like your star tradition. Are pajama pants going to become one of your Christmas traditions too? Merry Christmas!
